BLASTED XL.
Just my luck XL airways going bust, i was due to go to America on the 21st of this month.
to give some idea on how bad this affects all my family, there were 36 of us going to the states all with XL. Now we all have to try and get are money back, 18 months in the planning now all gone. We are also stuck,(my family only) with 1500 pounds worth of park tickets to try to sell on.
I might just hit the credit card and see if i can get there anyway, don't know what to do. GGRRRR!!!

Tough that John, I was talking to a guy at work yesterday and he had paid for £1,000 worth of flights directly, the day before they went bust. As he paid by Debit Card, he's lost the lot!

If you've paid by Credit Card you should get your money back, but after how long is anyone's guess.

I think I'd load up the Credit Card and get some more flights rather than sell on the tickets for the parks as there'll be loads of XL customers trying to do that.

A friend of mine has a holiday booked for october and the flight out is with XL but the holiday and the flight back isn't, so she just needs to see if she can get a flight out for 8 to get them all there!!

Paul, that is nothing short of criminal, taking money the day before they "went bust". The directors of the company must have known what was going on, IMO they should be personally liable for any monies taken after they had a reasonable idea the company was going under.

Stay in Britain, stuff the airlines and holiday companies. (But buy a raincoat)

I feel sorry for the people who worked for the company, other than the directors in the know (see comment above). People have lost their holidays and that is sad but these people have lost their jobs. No contest!

Graham
