you are a bit premature Barry, but as you have now raised it in Public then I am forced to respond. We currently have several problems with the trip if it goes ahead in May as listed: 1, The exchange rate is appalling at the moment which makes everything we buy very costly. 2, Taff has pulled out and as you know the only reason for going in May was to beat the French high season costs, and because Taff had to book his holidays very early. 3, Running the trip in May gives Paul problems as his employment situation is unsure at the moment so a delay may allow him time to settle his finances to a point where he could come?? 4, And finally, my work situation is also unsteady at the moment (25% of the workforce now gone) Although I have not had a response from Ian and Jo I will be going ahead and re scheduling it for September. We will still have warm days and plenty of fantastic riding + hopefully the £ will have regained some of it's value as the rest of the EU slips into recession. So, If all that want to DEFINATLY come in September can post up then I will do the booking depart date would be 18th Sep (fri) returning on 27th (sun) You get more juice into a BIG orange, or you can try some not so 'quick Silver' for a change

The next few weeks should be fairly critical for me. Hopefully I should know my future (at work) soon. At present I do not have a redundancy notice, but I've known for almost a year that my job has gone. There's loads more but I won't bore you!!!! It would be good to get a second look in on this trip as the Gorge is fannytastic!

I will have a bit of a problem getting time off earlier, however, this could be possible. I will check the availability of the cabins at the camp site (may be difficult due to the French school holidays). Option 1 (Train to south option), so, Now is the time to post up if you want to come on this trip. If you want to go on the train then we will have to depart on 4th Sep and return on 12th (if there is any space available). Post up now if you want to come, I cannot book this on ’possibly’ or ‘’I might come’’, If you want to come then I need the numbers by 12th April Please, I will also need a deposit to book the cabin etc. I will book this trip next week if we can get 4-6 people minimum. I will have to pay a deposit for the cabin and the rail booking so it is make your mind up time. Option 2(ride to south) The above date can stay (cheaper accommodation), ride all the way to SOF with two overnight stays on route, cost unknown at the moment. Post up by 12 April if you want to come You get more juice into a BIG orange, or you can try some not so 'quick Silver' for a change

Option 1 is out for me Richard,I cannot re juggle my holiday in Scotland. Option 2 not sure what you mean if you mean 2 nights either end and week in france I can't fit that in either it would mean cutting Scotland too short, not politik you understand would lead to diplomatic relations breaking down. Not looking good |

As we only have two people that can attend this trip I think it is better to delay it again until next year. I don't think it is worth running with two or three people now , It's a shame that we have had the set of events this year that have made this trip too difficult for people to attend. However, I will arrange another trip this year so keep looking in. Anyone any suggestions for a short trip (say 4-5 days) that is not to far and towards the end of the summer period? Adrian's place in Normandy could be nice again, but doubt he'll have vacancies in August.

I'd be up for another jaunt into Scotland, or how about Ireland? I don't have time booked off work yet so I could be fairly flexible on dates. |

Normandy would be good, not too far any chance of seeing if he has any space? Or as Martin says Ireland, fast boat from Liverpool ride the Ring of Kerry lots and lots of Guinness and the music in the pubs. Not that cheap though. |
