Thundersprint 2009
Europe’s biggest biking street party will be held over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday May 9/10 in the pretty market town of Northwich, in Cheshire - and has completely free admission for spectators.
Saturday 9 May will see the Thundersprint Bike Show right in the centre of Northwich town, next to the Memorial Hall. There will be classic and modern bikes on display, test rides, a huge trade area and bike safety information. Admission and parking are completely free of charge.
There will be appearances by star riders throughout the day.
In the evening, MotoGP star James Toseland will be playing at the Memorial Hall with his band "Crash". Tickets are available from Northwich Memorial Hall (01606 814640) at a cost of £15.00.
The Thundersprint itself takes over Northwich on Sunday May 10 with double World Champion James Toseland in action round the tight town centre track. James will be supported by a whole galaxy of modern and classic stars including six times World Champion Jim Redman racing a fabulous classic Honda.
Lunchtime sees a giant cavalcade around the town centre followed by a Spitfire aerobatic display.
Away from the racing there is a mile of trade stands including exhibitions from most of the major motorcycle manufacturers. A feature of the Thundersprint is outstandingly good food at reasonable prices and free street entertainment.
Spectator admission is completely free of charge and parking, in Council controlled car parks, is also free of charge.
